One Day Guided Tours

One Day Guided Tours

In-depth encounters with an Iya insider

Looking to connect

Our guided tours allow you and your group to properly explore and experience all that makes the Iya Valley such a special place.

Each of these tours includes a private car and driver as well as one of Iya's top English speaking local guides. All of our guides are approved by the Iya Valley Tourism Association and they will not only introduce and explain Iya's rugged lifestyle and customs, but also bring you on in-depth walks along the ancient paths of remote villages, take you inside traditional farmhouses, and reveal many hidden wonders that most visitors never get to encounter.

We have a selection of fixed routes and activities based on a variety of interests, as well as the option for more flexibility to create your own customized tour.

  • Pick-up and/or drop off can be to/from any Iya Valley accommodation as well as JR Oboke Station. Pick-up or drop-off at other places outside the area can also be arranged (farther hotels, cities, airports, etc), but may require an additional fee and travel time depending location. Just let us know.
  • For all guided tours, availability may be limited between December 1 and March 31 (some locations close and/or have reduced hours during this time, and our guides may have limited availability in winter).
  • We are generally not available for guided tours on any Wednesday.

We will not be available for Guided Tours from July 24 to August 20, 2024. But if you are planning to come during this time, it is instead possible to arrange a Taxi-only Tour by contacting Kazurabashi Taxi directly via their website. Thank you.
