Oboke Gorge Pleasure Boat Cruise
To include the Boat Cruise in this tour:
+Add 60 (or 90*) minutes of taxi & guide time

- Boat tickets are ¥1500 adult, ¥750 child
- Please pay for the guide's ticket as well.
- 9am - 5pm (last boat departs 4:30pm)
- If either starting or ending your tour via Oboke area hotels and/or via Oboke Station, it will probably mean adding 60 minutes of taxi and guide time to your tour.
- If both starting and ending your tour via accommodations located in the Iya Valley, please understand that it takes about 15 minutes to travel each way to/from the Oboke area from the Iya Valley, so it means adding 90 minutes of taxi and guide time.
As the mighty Yoshino River carves itself across central Shikoku, the rocky gorge it creates here is quite spectacular. It's name of "Oboke" translates as "Big Danger Walking" and refers to the historic difficulty of traversing this steep and narrow chasm.
This tranquil boat ride lets you see Oboke Gorge from within, and includes a written commentary available in nine languages. The ride itself goes for about 30 minutes, and we allow a bit of extra time for accessing the boat launch as well as for viewing the gorge from above.
